Located in Jiangsu province, Zhenjiang is not difficult to reach from any of China’s main urban areas. As a transportation hub in China, Zhenjiang is one of the busiest ports in the nation and is connected to Shanghai and Nanjing by the Beijing-Shanghai rail route, by the Yangtze River and by air.

Shuttle Bus:
Shuttle bus from Nanjing Airport to Zhenjiang (1.2hrs):
1. 14:40 from Nanjing Airport—16:00 to Zhongshan Lu, Zhenjiang (10m by taxi to the site of Festival)
2. 13:00 from Nanjing Airport—16:00 to Jingkou Restaurant, Zhenjiang (10m by taxi to the site of Festival)
3. 18:30 from Nanjing Airport—20:00 to Jingkou Restaurant, Zhenjiang (10m by taxi to the site of Festival)

1. From Beijing to Zhenjiang:

There is no airport in Zhenjiang, visitors have to transfer from Nanjing or Shanghai. The Lukou International Airport in Nanjing to the west is merely 80 kilometers away from Zhenjiang.

There are 28 flights offered by China Airlines, Hainan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines and United Airlines from Beijing to Nanjing (1h50m) each day. If you take the train from Nanjing to Zhenjiang, it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the type of train.

There are three trains that you can take from Beijing to Zhenjiang directly, taking about 11 hours or more.

It only takes 29 minutes if you take the fastest bullet train from Nanjing to Zhenjiang at the cost of RMB 20 (hard seat)/24 (soft seat) and the cheapest train (No. 1461) is only RMB 5.5 with the traveling time of 1 hour and 21 minutes.

2. From Shanghai to Zhenjiang:

Shanghai is quite near Zhenjiang, so it is no need to take planes to go there. Taking trains is a good selection since there are more than 50 trains from Shanghai to Zhenjiang, the fastest of which takes only 1.5 hours, at the cost of RMB 73 (hard seat)/88 (soft seat). The cheapest train (No. 1462) is only RMB 19 with the traveling time of 5 hours and 37 minutes.

From Shanghai to Zhenjiang, there are more than 15 long-distance buses, departing from long-distance passenger transportation station (605 Hutai Lu, Shanghai; 021-56538590), the north area long-distance passenger bus station (65 Gongxing Lu, Zhabei District, Shanghai; 021-56630230), the long-distance passenger south station (67 Zhongshan Xilu; 021-54353535) and the Hengfeng Lu passenger bus station (258 Hengfeng Lu, Zhabei District, Shanghai; 021-85365,63173912)

The Yangtze ferry from Shanghai to Chongqing stops at Zhenjiang at 10:45 daily. It continues on to arrive at Hankou at 7:30 on the third day and Chongqing at 11:00 on the seventh day. The downstream ferry heading for Shanghai arrives at 22:00 daily. The journey takes 14 hours. The ferry terminal is in the northwest of the city.

3. From Guangzhou to Zhenjiang:

There are 16 flights offered by Shenzhen Airlines, Hainan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines from Guangzhou to Nanjing (2h) each day and 2 flights from Guangzhou to Changzhou (2h10m). If you take trains from Nanjing or Changzhou to Zhenjiang and will take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Only one train makes the journey from Guangzhou to Zhenjiang directly.

However, there is of course the option, as with Beijing, of taking one of the several trains that head north via Nanjing, and then transferring from there.

4. From within the city to the venue

1) Special Bus for Midi:
From May 1st to 3rd, Midi Special Buses are available from Zhenjiang Railway Station Square to the venue of the music festival, running every five minutes, at the cost of RMB 3. It will take 20 minutes from the railway station to the venue.

2) Public bus:
Bus No. 14, No. 3 (RMB 1.5), No. 19 (RMB 1), No. k201(RMB 2) and No. k219 (RMB 2) from Railway Station to Jiangsu University.
You can take Bus No. 3, No.19, No. K201 and No. K219 to arrive at Dashikou North or Dashikou East Station first to take No. 14 directly to the west gate of Jiangsu University. Walking towards northwest after coming into the front gate of Jiangsu University to the west gate, you’ll arrive at the venue. It will take 30 minutes by foot.

3) By taxi:
The starting fare is RMB 8 for the first three kms and the additional fare is RMB 2.4 for each km after the first three kms. It takes 20 minutes and RMB 20 for the trip. It is recommended that 4 people take one taxi at the average cost of RMB 5.
