On August 12, the Sanya Municipal Government reported that the 120 hotel guests at the Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay had been admitted to the hospital for suspected food poisoning. That morning, visitors to the hotel had been seen running out of the hotel restaurant's breakfast buffet in varying degrees of physical discomfort. The guests are all recovering well, and out of 120 admitted to the hospital, 28 have fully recovered and 92 are in outpatient treatment. The hotel restaurant will suspend business until the problem is rectified.
