Dozens of air guns and over 2,000 lead bullets were confiscated from five college students, who were allegedly attempting to smuggle them over the border from Hong Kong.
Two others have also been arrested making a total of seven suspects, police said on Tuesday. They were arrested in Shenzhen in May 2014, following a tipoff.
Individual ownership of any gun or firearm is illegal in China, although there is a healthy black market in air rifles, particularly in South China’s Guangdong Province.
