A 600 year old tower that dates back to the Ming Dynasty has been destroyed in a fire that broke out on Saturday January 3.

The tower, located in Weishan County of Dali, Yunnan, caught fire at approximately 03:00 and was extinguished after a 2 hour struggle by local firefighters. Only a remnant of the supporting wooden structural supports survived.
