Fenghuang Village to Start Charging 148 RMB Entry Fee

The end of Fenghuang Village’s free entry era will soon be over—starting April 1, in accordance with adjustments to tourism management, tourists visiting the ancient town will now have to pay a 148 RMB entrance fee. For travellers wishing the revisit the area, yearlong tickets are also available, and tourists are also given the option to buy tickets valid for three visits, as well as lifelong passes.

Getting there: first take a train from Changsha to Jishou, then take a taxi (5 RMB) to the South Bus Station (汽车南站) where you’ll take a bus to Fenghuang. Buses run every minutes between 7:00-19:00, and cost 17 RMB per person, taking around 70 to 80 minutes.
