FDI Confidence Index: China Maintains #2 Spot Despite Market Fluctuations
May 05, 2016 By eChinacities.com

China was ranked second in international consulting firm AT Kearney’s 2016 Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index (FDI Confidence Index). Tech in Asia reported today that the United States topped the list, while China took the second spot for the fourth consecutive year despite market fluctuations caused by negative perceptions of the Chinese market from overseas investors.

Japan, who came in seventh last year, took the sixth spot. India is ranked ninth, up two spots from 2015, and Australia is ranked seventh, up three spots from last year.

The FDI Confidence Index measures the impact of political, economic, and regulatory factors on the foreign direct investment preferences of the world’s leading international companies. A high ranking means that international giants are more likely to invest in companies in a particular country.
