Outspoken exiled Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui, who is accused of a long list of crimes by the Chinese government, is now also being investigated for rape, reports claim.

In a very unusual move, two anonymous Chinese officials contacted the Associated Press news agency to relay the claims of rape from Guo’s former personal assistant.
Guo, who regularly makes allegations about corruption in the top levels of China’s government from the safety of his New York apartment, is already accused of a number of offenses, including fraud, kidnapping and corruption.
An arrest warrant was issued for Guo back in April shortly after the businessman threatened to release information exposing top-level officials.
Chinese police are now requesting a second Interpol notice against the 50-year-old tycoon after his former personal assistant accused him of rape on July 5.
The plaintive claims she was taken from her role in HR and assigned the position of Guo’s personal assistant, after which he insisted she sleep with him as a sign of loyalty.
The 28-year-old woman, whose identity has been kept secret by AP, says she was raped several times in New York, London and the Bahamas over a period of two years.
She also claims to have been kept under virtual detention by Guo’s staff, who allegedly took her computer, phone, passport and keys, forcing her to remain in Guo’s London apartment.
She did, however, manage to surreptitiously meet a lawyer in London to give a written statement and has apparently kept abortion pills, pregnancy tests and her underwear as evidence.
In their report, AP acknowledged that the claims may be the Chinese government’s latest attempt to silence Guo, which has become all the more urgent in the lead up to the Communist Party Conference next month.
The US has so far not given word of any plans to extradite Guo, and there is no extradition treaty between the two countries.
