Drug Addiction in Beijing Rising 10 Percent Every Year

Beijing police announced yesterday that there are currently 25,000 registered drug addicts in Beijing, revealing a growing trend of addiction. The police also noted that the number of teenage addicts has risen sharply in the past few years.

Online drug dealing was cited as a reason for the increase, as online social networks and communication platforms allow dealers to easily organize the traffic and sale of illegal drugs. Assessing the current trends, people in low income brackets, migrant workers and farmers in suburban regions have been shown to be the most likely drug users.
