China Eastern Airlines opened a new “direct” flight route from Chongqing to Los Angeles on August 20. The airline will operate three weekly flights from Chongqing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The 16 hour flight, with the number MU583, departs from Jiangbei Airport at 09:00, briefly stops in Shanghai (no need to exist the aircraft) and departs for LA at 13:00. The flight arrives at 10:05 in Los Angeles.
The return route from LA, flight MU586, operates every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. It departs from LA at 12:30 and arrives at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport the next day at 22:00. To check availability and to reserve tickets, go to http://www.ceair.com/.
