Did China Hack Apple’s iCloud?
Oct 22, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Following accusations by greatfire.org, a cyber monitoring website, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has spoken up and denied that the government has hacked into Apple’s iCloud system to steal information from Chinese users.

The Foreign Ministry’s representative has condemned hacker attacks in all forms, and repeats that actually, the Chinese government is a major victim of such attacks itself. However, Greatfire says that the attacks on Apple’s iCloud follow on from previous attempts to hack into Google, Yahoo and Microsoft databases.

Greatfire published the news that Chinese authorities are using a “man-in-the-middle” style of attack, which involves hackers interposing their own applications between users and the iCloud servers to intercept data.

Through an attack like this, the government would be able to get passwords and usernames, and thus be able to get access to users’ iMessages, pictures, and other data, ecns reports.
