Dalian Nightlife

The relatively clean air and low cost of living and tuition have brought a solid contingent of expatriates to Dalian. The market responds to the demand, as the saying goes, and now the city offers a fair selection of pubs, dance clubs, and KTVs. Pub crawlers will want to check out the side streets off Wuwu Lu, where various venues are packed in tight. Other clusters are located in the area behind the Shangri-la hotel and Gaoerji Lu near People's Square.

For a relaxed and inexpensive drink option, the night markets shouldn't be ignored. Sit with friends under the open sky and pick at a plate of barbecue while you enjoy draft beers from RMB1-3. Drafts also proliferate at the summer Dalian beer festival, hosted annually in Xinghai Square. Tickets to the festival usually run about RMB20.
