Chongqing's summers can be fiercely hot, so bring sunblock, but bring an umbrella too: heavy rain can fall at any time of the year. The fog is equally famous: about a third of the days during spring and summer are foggy. The sun can easily penetrate the fog on hot days though. Sun-block should not be forgotten even on the most overcast days.
