China’s Railways Ministry Split in Two to Check Corruption
Mar 11, 2013 By eChinacities.com

China’s railway ministry will be split in two, with administrative functions being transferred to the transportation ministry and commercial functions taken over by a new China Railway Corporation, Xinhua reported on March 10. China hopes that the breakup of the ministry will help curb recent problems with corruption, such as the widely reported case of former railways minister Liu Zhijun, who was sacked in 2011 and was largely blamed for the Wenzhou train crash later that year.
