China to Become World’s Second Largest Games Market Next Year
Dec 24, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Market research company Newzoo recently published a report on the Asian mobile games market Big Three. The report shows that the Chinese mobile phone games market has increased from 2.3 billion USD to 42.5 billion USD since last year. Industry insiders have indicated that in 2015, China’s mobile phone games market will surpass North America to become the second biggest mobile games market in the world, after Japan.

The main reason for this explosive growth is the rapidly increasing rate of mobile phone users. The 34th China Network Development Statistical Report shows that in the first half of 2014, there were 252 million mobile game users in mainland China, with a user rate of 47.8 percent. Moreover, due to the growing popularity of domestic mobile networks and the continual improvement of mobile games, there are very good prospects for the domestic market.
