Five passengers were killed and eight were injured when a long-distance coach bus traveling in Lantian, Xi’an on the Fuyin Expressway caught fire yesterday at 18:56. The incident occurred 200 meters outside of Caoping Tunnel. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was burnt down to its shell.
The source of the fire is currently under investigation.
