The State Administration of Press Publication for Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has re-issued a request to online video broadcasting websites to halt all OTT TV application services this week.

Over the Top TV applications are devices that allow users to download apps and video content onto their television sets through a TV box. SARFT ruled that the apps violate regulations and Youku, Tudou, PPTV and LeTV halted their services earlier this month.

An inspection will be carried out next week. All websites that fail to comply could lose their business licenses.
