Brief Intro to Jinan Shopping

Jinan is the capital of Shandong Province, and is a fairly large city of about six million people, where most items can be found. There are 15 large shops that are designated by the government as specializing in the tourist trade, as well as countless smaller shops and stalls that carry souvenirs and locally made items. As the capital, Jinan has a range of products available from all around Shandong as well as the city itself.

Like most large Chinese cities, there is a big range of department stores and shopping centers to choose from, all of which carry a wide array of domestic and international brands at different price levels. Quancheng Square is brand new, and is currently the largest shopping center in Jinan, and is definitely worth a look.

'Dough Molding' has become an interesting local industry that caters to visitors, where dough is molded into historical and culturally significant characters and figurines. Embroidery, black pottery and persimmons are popular local products as well.
