Beijing Trains Install Video Records Combating Anti-Terrorism and Forgetfulness
Nov 24, 2014 By eChinacities.com

On November 23, reporters learned from the Beijing Railway Bureau that in order to prepare against terrorist attacks and ensure safety of passengers, the trains have installed video recorders.

The Beijing Railway Bureau has implemented a trial regulation to record sound and images, from locations at the front and back of the train carriage. The devices can record between 30 and 60 hours of footage in the trains. In sleeper trains, the devices will be located at the front and back of the carriage, so as not to interfere with passenger privacy.

Apart from for anti-terrorism purposes, these videos will also help in case of unexpected events or when items are lost by passengers, or stolen.
