Beijing Airport will make a new carpool lane in order to reduce queues after conducting a survey on their website.
36 percent of the people who participated said that they had previously shared a taxi with a stranger, with 75 percent saying that they would be willing to share.
Long lines for buses and taxis were the most frequent reason amongst respondents for wanting to share a cab. However 55 percent of people surveyed believe that sharing a taxi with a stranger is unsafe.
The airport has responded by making plans to add an additional queuing area for people willing to share a taxi. They believe that this will significantly reduce waiting times.
