Australia is Expanding its Kangaroo Meat Market to China
Jul 28, 2014 By eChinacities.com

The Australian Ministry of Commerce officially announced on July that kangaroo meat will be hopping over to China and hitting the shelves by the end of this year.

The product has passed inspection by Chinese border control authorities and Australian sellers are just waiting for all the official documentation to go through.

Although the sale of kangaroo meat in China isn’t officially legal yet, a small market for it has been slowly growing on Ali Baba over the past few years. There are already four certified wholesale shops on the website and the meat goes for 60-70 RMB per 500 grams for high quality cuts, whilst the tail and other parts sell for 20-30 RMB per 500 grams.
