A knife-wielding attacker injured four victims yesterday in Guangzhou before jumping to his death. On March 24, at about 6:30 pm, the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau released a statement via their official Weibo account. The report said that at about 4:15 pm that day, an attacker with a knife entered the Bu Yun Tiandi Wholesale Shoes Market on Zhanxi Road. The man wounded four people and then jumped to his death from the 10th floor of the building. The 4 injured were rushed to the hospital, and all are expected to live.

The police have been receiving inconsistent accounts of the event. More than one eyewitness claimed that there were three attackers with knives: one injured the victims, one jumped and the other got away. The incident is currently still under investigation.
