Ningbo covers an area just under 10,000 square kilometers, with a population of 7.605 million, 5.195 million of whom live in urban areas. Among the residents, there are 3.884 million males and 3.722 females, accounting for 51.06% and 48.94% of the total population respectively. The largest non-Han ethnic groups living in the city are Tujia, Miao and Zhuang.
