The area of the Guangzhou prefecture is area is 7,434 square kilometers (2870 square miles), with a resident population of 12.70 million (2010), of whom 7.72 million live in the urban area of Guangzhou. Foreigners have mostly been concentrated in Xiaobei Lu (Yuexiu District), Kuangquan Subdistrict and Sanyuanli Subdistrict (Baiyun District). Aside from Han, there are three main ethnic groups that reside in Guangzhou: Hui, Man and Yu. Non-Han residents account for 8.29% of the total population.
