Chengdu city is 12,121 thousand square kilometers with a population of just over 14.047(2010) million. Among the permanent residents, there are 7,138,723 males and 6,908,902 females, accounting for 50.82% and 49.18% of the total population respectively. Chengdu has several ethnic minority groups, the largest of which are Hui and Tibetan.
