A foreign teacher who was employed by Hampson English in Beijing, was arrested on June 25 for forcing an 18 year old female student to watch porn and for groping her.
According to the girl’s mother, Mrs. Chen, her daughter had decided to take one-on-one English lessons this summer before she went off to study abroad. Hampson English recommended this particular English teacher because of his experience teaching dozens of students in the past. On June 15, her daughter attended the class in the Wantong Building by Fuchengmen. During the session, the teacher apparently watched a porn video on his computer and groped the girl. The girl immediately stormed out of the classroom and called her parents.
By the time the police arrived at the scene, the teacher had already fled. He was later apprehended however and has been sentenced to seven days in detention while his deportation paper work is being processed.
The Director of HR of Hampson English Ms. Shen, admitted that there are loopholes in the management of foreign teachers. She added that a Chinese teacher was supposed to be present during the one-on-one tutorial but arrived late for work and has since resigned. Moreover, the branch manager has been sacked and another demoted. The school is also currently discussing compensation in the amount of 500,000 RMB with the victim’s family.

I am the English teach that was arrested. A couple things I need to point out. The woman was 26 years old, not 18 years old. This was verified by the US consulate representatives after I pointed this out to them from a detention center. The Chinese police tried to lie and say I was a child molester and yet the woman was actually 26 years old. The US consulate representatives were angry and I was released from the detention center early because these lies were revealed. Another lie is I did not force her to watch porn. She was interested in American TV shows, so I showed her part of an episode of Game of Thrones, which she thought was pornography due to having a sheltered and immature mind. She complained to her father and then he turned out to be a man working in the government. Her father lied to the police about his daughter being underage so that my punishment would be harsher, though it was completely illegal and unjust for him to do. This is the typical Chinese way and the Chinese government is so corrupt. The fact that such a story was made up about me is shameful. The people involved in putting me in that situation should lose face.

Seems like it was probrably blown out of proportion, but still could be partially true. Seems that it popular to demonize foreigners because we are smaller group, and this is especially a time where China wants to show the rest of the world how how advanced their society while using foreigners to do the exact same thing, completely hipocritical!

wow, I smell alot of trumped up, indisputable charges in this financial shakedown game people play here. One-on-one with a foreigner (since we all know they are sex crazed and incapable of controlling themselves), have parent accuse foreigner, have child turn on waterworks, deport foreigner, collect 500K - one million yuan, wash, rinse, repeat. I've been a certified teacher and principal. Those in a classroom. . .rule #1: NEVER BE ALONE WITH A STUDENT, especially if you are a man and the student is a woman. Keep the door open and always sit close to the door. When class is over, if the student wants to talk, make sure it is in full view of everyone. And never go to a student's home to teach them. Always outside in public.

I can see more copy cats happening soon. beware everyone, beware.... they dont think how it will mess up your life, only that they get 500k for getting their daughter to go into your class then run out after a few minutes saying he touched me....
