In the next few years, the Shenzhen Municipal Government will spend 6 billion RMB on making the city’s tap water drinkable for more households. As of right now, households in only 50 residential compounds in Shenzhen have drinkable water straight from the tap.

The Shenzhen Daily writes that Cai Qian, the vice director of the city’s water quality supervision station, said that the station is monitoring water quality throughout the entire process of water supply, and that drinking water in Shenzhen already ranks at the top when compared to other Chinese cities.

On top of that – if you live in Nanshan, Futian, Luohu or Yantian you can now pay your water bills using WeChat!
