27 Killed in Southern China after Rainstorms

Rainstorms in Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Sichuan, Guizhou and Guangxi have affected seven provincial-level regions in southern China as reported by Shanghai Daily. All in all, 27 people were killed and 84,000 people have had to move as a result of flooding.

Of the 27 people, 18 deaths were reported in Guizhou, 7 in Jiangxi and 2 in Fujian. In Guizhou, 6 people have been reported missing following the natural disasters.

Guizhou is the province that was worst hit, with 2,100 houses and 4,500 of crops completely destroyed. Total losses for the province are estimated at 1.79 billion RMB.
