Yangzi Evening News and other well-known newspapers are under investigation for publishing false stories. The Central Propaganda Department and nine other departments have been conducting a campaign against extortion and false news since 2014.

In this case, reported on September 28, 15 newspapers and 17 editorial staff were punished for posting false news items.

On December 19, 2014,  a website published a story headlined “Chengdu Man Purchases 20 Tickets to Send His Girlfriend’s Mother for a Dowry Price of Worth 500,000 Yuan.” On December 21, 2014 Jiangsu’s Yangzi Evening News published the story with a similar headline. After an investigation, it was found that the story was invented by a software company. Yangzi Evening News was given a warning, and fined $10,000.

Stiggs

There's false news and then there's false news, sometimes the false news might even be right. You must ensure you publish the right false news otherwise people might get the wrong idea, even if it's right. That could cause all sorts of confusion !
