Christmas time is here and Guangzhouers have an array of events, dinners and parties to choose from, from holiday tea time for the kiddies to classical music concerts to rock'n'roll sound-tracked turkey dinners for the adults. Following are a selection of events being put on in Guangzhou for Christmas, 2011, to make your holiday one of the happiest, however old you are.

Dinnner at The Brew
The Brew's Panyu location is planning a party on Dec. 17, and offering all-you-can-drink Carlsberg or house wine for 150 RMB, games, activities and photo opportunities with Santa. If you bring a wrapped 50 RMB value gift, you can participate in a "dirty Santa" gift exchange. Call for details.

Christmas Buffet at the Sheraton Guangzhou
Four Points at the Sheraton Guangzhou will offer a Christmas buffet including roast chestnut-stuffed turkey, Alaskan crab, Christmas pudding and gingerbread. There will be live entertainment and a lucky draw.

3) Christmas at The Westin Guangzhou
Also on Christmas Eve, The Westin Guangzhou will hold a 'Christmas Carnival' at its restaurants and bar.
Their Seasonal Tastes restaurant on the second floor will hold a buffet with free flow soft drinks, juice, beer and wine and one glass of a "Christmas drink." They will also give diners a 50 percent off coupon for a Christmas drink at QBA downstairs.
Prices: 488 RMB for adults; 258 RMB for children 12 and under. Prices plus an additional 15 percent service fee.
At The Westin's Prego, they will have a classic buffet with free flow soft drinks, juice, beer, wine, one glass of champagne and a 50 percent coupon for a QBA seasonal drink.
Prices: 688 RMB for adults; 358 RMB for children 12 and under. Prices plus an additional 15 percent service fee.
And, at QBA, there will be a Christmas Eve dance party with Christmas drinks priced at 100 RMB.

4) Christmas Set Menu at The China Hotel—A Mariott Hotel
The China Hotel—A Mariott Hotel will have a Christmas set menu on Dec. 24th and 25th. The cost is 388 RMB per person, not including 15 percent for service. The price includes a glass of red wine for each diner.

5) Christmas Buffet at the Ritz-Carlton
On both Dec. 24 and 25 two of the Ritz-Carlton's restaurants will offer holiday fare.
FOODS will offer a Christmas buffet with holiday favourites such as roasted turkey, glazed ham and Christmas goose; complimentary soft drinks and a kids’ activity corner.

Prices: 788 RMB per person plus 15 percent service charge.
Meanwhile, LIMONI will serve up a set Christmas dinner on the 24th (set menu only) and 25th (set menu or à la carte)

All prices add on a 15 percent service charge.
The Ritz-Carlton also offers a takeaway option for holiday treats, at 1,088 RMB for a 6-7 kg turkey or ham and accoutrements or 2,288 RMB for a 9-11 kg turkey or ham, accoutrements and a Christmas fruit cake.

6) Christmas Barbeque Buffet at Cascade Cafe
On both Saturday and Sunday, the Cascade Cafe at the Garden Hotel will be providing a Christmas barbecue buffet dinner featuring roast turkey, grilled steaks and barbecued seafood. Complimentary Christmas gift and a festive drink are included. Buy five get one free.

7) Set Menu at Gail’s Place
Gail's Place will have a holiday set menu available on Christmas Eve for dinner from 5:30 p.m. and Christmas Day all day long. The menu will cost 238 RMB and features salad; soup; a main of turkey, ham or steak; dessert and a drink. Reservations are necessary.

8) Christmas Buffet at SENSES
The Hilton Baiyun Guangzhou's SENSES will have a Christmas-themed buffet including ham, turkey and trimmings, Christmas pudding and seafood. A live band will play Christmas carols and soft jazz between 7 and 9 p.m. Children will be thrilled by Santa's visit, and adults will enjoy a lucky draw.

9) All-you-can-eat Turkey Dinner at The Brew
For a laid-back Christmas, The Brew's Zhujiang New Town location will be serving an all-you-can-eat turkey dinner while diners enjoy a live rock band and Christmas caroling. Dinner costs 198 RMB per person including free flow soft drinks for two hours, or 298 RMB including Tiger beer and/or house wine for two hours. Call to reserve a seating time.

1) Concert by YOA Orchestra of the Americas
Music lovers might enjoy a holiday treat at the Guangzhou Opera House with the YOA Orchestra of the Americas, an orchestra of 100 multicultural musicians aged 18 to 30, led by GRAMMY-winner conductor José Serebrier and advised by Placido Domingo.

5) Concert by Milan Symphony Orchestra
Or, for a nostalgic Christmas featuring a completely different kind of music than the city's bars will provide, the Milan Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to play at Symphony Hall of Guangdong Xinghai Concert Hall.

6) Concert by Andreyev State Academic Russian Orchestra
While not strictly Christmas music, the Andreyev State Academic Russian Orchestra (the former Imperial Russian Orchestra) will also be playing at the Guangzhou Opera House in the evening. They will play a selection of Russian folk songs as well as works by composers such as Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.
