2012 Halloween in Guangzhou: The Most Wicked Events

As the darkness continues to devour our precious daylight hours, one major festival has crept up upon us again: Halloween. This year's Halloween-themed offerings in Guangzhou are scary, gory and smothered with a chilling obsession of the apocalyptic. There will be monsters, zombies, vampires and ghouls aplenty, but there'll also be an onslaught of wicked DJs, frightening levels of alcohol and plenty of interactive games…if you dare. Here's our round-up of 2012 Halloween events in Guangzhou!

1) Full Moon Party at Zhujiang Party PierView In Map
Slated to be one of the biggest Halloween bashes in Guangzhou this year, this event is organized by Zhujiang Beer which can only mean one thing: plenty of public drunkenness! Besides barrels of continuously flowing draught beer, another highlight will be a performance by up-and-coming Taiwanese singer William Wei. And if you didn't get around to buying a costume or accessories, not to worry: a flea market will be set up on site selling a huge selection of gruesome delights.

2) Apocalypse Party at A Marriot HotelView In Map
If you're looking for a more swanky location to rub shoulders with the city's last post-apocalyptic survivors, ghosts, zombies and demons, look no further than "Apocalypse" at China Hotel, A Marriot. The interior will be decked out in scary Halloween decorations from floor to ceiling with an exciting program featuring light and fire shows, live DJs, dominatrix stage dancers and—because why not?—laser tag war games. Entrance includes all-you-can-drink beer, wine and cocktails, as well as finger food for the remaining humans. Sounds like a dangerously fun party!

3) Halloween Foam Party at Wave BarView In Map
Halloween tends to bring the weirdest fetishes and quirks out in people, and if getting soaked with foam happens to be one of them, then you're in luck! Wave Bar will be putting on a foam bash of epic proportions this Halloween. And those who dare to wear costumes despite being shot down with suds may win special prizes. Things will surely get very messy…

4) Killer Halloween Party at Rebel, RebelView In Map
Popular British-themed expat haunt Rebel, Rebel is not laying low this Halloween. Their "Killer" party includes some frighteningly good drink deals include free flowing Tiger Beer or wine for 150 RMB and "brain hemorrhage" shots for 20 RMB. An international DJ will be unleashing sharp beats while hair-raising horror flicks are projected onto the big screens. Dress to kill and party like there's no tomorrow!

5) Halloween at Hooley's
Last but not least, Hooley's will be throwing a devastatingly awesome Halloween bash with the typical Hooley's characteristics: a live band. Rocking the house during their Halloween bash will be Bolt Action, the ferociously hot Guangdong rock band. The gig will be followed by a DJ as well as costume competitions, trick or treat shots, Gothic cocktails and many more wicked shenanigans.
