Remember too that if you rent from a real estate agent there will often be a finder's fee of one month's rent, depending on the price of the apartment (if you're renting a more expensive apartment the finder's fee will often be discounted or waived altogether). This also is not an attempt to rip you off, it is normal and usually the only way around it is to not go through a rental agency. The problem is that it is getting harder and harder to find an apartment without an agent in many cities, as the agents will pounce on any landlord who puts his apartment up for rent almost immediately and many landlords would rather just turn the whole hassle over to an agency anyhow. I too have always had a 1 month deposit. Never heard of a 33% law.

OZAN, can you please specify for what city that's the law or is it everywhere? Personally, I've never had an agent go for less than 50% and lately it seems most will refuse to show you any apartments unless you agree to a whole month's rent.

about the rental please be more specific . the agents cannot charge you more than 3 of one months rent that is the LAW.
