Wuyi Shan Tour: An Unforgettable Qigong Retreat

Wuyi Shan Tour: An Unforgettable Qigong Retreat
Mar 13, 2010 By eChinacities.com

Imagine waking up everyday to fresh mountain air, then walking down to a beautiful Taoist Temple set against stunning mountain scenery for some morning meditation. After gaining peace of mind, undergo training in Qigong with a real Taoist Monk. And throughout it all, there is an abundance of healthy, local organic foods and wild tea from the Wuyi Mountains. Sounds too good to be true? It isn’t.

For two weeks from May 9th to May 22nd, the Wandering Dao and Wild Tea Qi offers you the chance to soak up genuine ancient Taoist Chinese culture.

How many retreats have you seen where there is a real Taoist monk or even a famous ghost catcher? The other unique elements of this trip are the opportunity to hike up tea-laden mountains, just in time for the harvest. While hiking, you will be able to catch a glimpse of local tea pickers plucking away at some of the finest tea in the world. And if that isn’t enough, there will be a lunch at the tea pickers’ village with real locals. This is an experience most foreigners never get the chance to do. Other fun activities include the famous bamboo river rafting, I Ching discussions and so much more. There will also be a variety of teachers and masters, and translators will be present.

Wuyishan Tour

If you don’t already know about Wuyi Shan, it is one of the Taoist and Buddhist centres of the world, nestled deep in the Wuyi Mountains. Mount Wuyi is famous for its huge conservation of nature, and a large number of ancient plant species, wild animals and reptiles - many of which are not found elsewhere in China.

Experience Truly Fresh, Clean and Local Organic Cuisine!

The Wuyi Shan Retreat provides 3 typical organic Chinese meals every day. With hygienic food preparation and by using the finest local ingredients, it promises to please your palate as well as your spirit. Organisers will also take the time to teach about the various benefits of foods, based on Chinese Medicinal theory, with a goal, they say, to offer a truly natural experience you can take home. If you have specific food allergies or intolerance's, they will be accommodated.
