Serious shoppers and curio-seekers shouldn't miss the chance to get their hands on authentic Xiang tea, lacquer ware, semi-precious stones and bamboo carvings, which can be bought at any one of the numerous shops around the province.

The highest concentration of modern shops can be found in centrally-located Wuyi Square, which is brimming with department stores, specialty shops, supermarkets and hotels.
