Like most other developing cities in China, the bar scene here is still developing as well. There are not many firmly established bars or pubs in Zhuhai that have been around for more than just a few years, but there is still a lot of fun to be had. There are many bars and pubs in Zhuhai, especially in Jida, Gongbei and along the Qinglu Road. Shuiwan Bar Street at the Shuiwan Road of Gongbei is home to the old guard of Zhuhai bars. With the support of the municipal government, this bar street was set up to promote tourism and the local economy. The street was constructed with European styling cues, combined with typical Chinese features. Various bars, pubs, cafes and nightclubs along the kilometer-long street each have their respective characteristics, allowing for different scenes and themes.
