 Zhongshan Road is Xiamen's central shopping destination. Beginning at the Cultural Palace and running all the way down to the water, Zhongshan Road is where you can expect to find the widest variety of department stores, book shops, boutiques, banks, and even a movie theatre. Night owls can hunt for goodies at Zhongshan's Ding'An Night Market on SiMing South Road.
More touristy markets and outdoor bazaars can be found on Gulang Island, and don't miss the nightly outdoor market on Dinghai Road.
If you're really up for the cinema, the World Trade Center Mall on Xiahe Lu has a theatre that regularly shows foreign films.
