Woman Tries to Get Boyfriend to Visit with Fake Suicide Threat, He Calls Police Instead

Woman Tries to Get Boyfriend to Visit with Fake Suicide Threat, He Calls Police Instead
Aug 19, 2015 By eChinacities.com

This past Saturday, a Chongqing man called the police saying that his girlfriend of one month had threatened suicide online. The man could not go check on her himself, and asked the police to stop her from hurting herself.

Police went to the woman's address and knocked on the door for nearly 10 minutes. No one answered. They called the woman's landlord, who did not have the keys to the apartment.

“We were thinking of other ways to get in, then we suddenly got a phone call saying that the woman had committed suicide,” said a police officer. Police quickly consulted with the landlord and called a locksmith to break down the door.

The door opened, and everyone rushed into the house. They were surprised when they found a woman sitting on the bed, unharmed, playing a game on her cell phone.

The woman seemed impatient, and asked police why they broke open her door. She said that she had posted the “suicide,” message because she had wanted her boyfriend to come over.

The next day, the district police received a complaint from the same woman who asked for compensation for the destroyed lock in her apartment. The woman also came in person to the station to complain.

When the landlord thought the woman was in trouble, he had told police that he would bear all costs for breaking the door. However, seeing that the woman was unharmed, the landlord changed his mind and told her that she had to pay 200 Yuan to fix the lock.

The woman also changed her story in her complaint: she said that it was her ex-boyfriend who had called the police and that the report was fake. She asked police to bring in her ex-boyfriend to the station to see her.

Police found the woman's demands to be unreasonable.

Anyone else notice the change in the story from "boyfriend" to "ex-boyfriend"? I wonder what brought upon the breakup. After all, she sounds like a keeper, so rational and mentally sound.
