Wealthy Chinese Student’s Maserati Confiscated in Scotland after Drunk Driving Charges
Nov 13, 2015 By eChinacities.com

A wealthy Chinese student studying in Scotland’s Maserati was confiscated after he was arrested for the second time for drunk driving. The student, Li Chennao, 22, showed no remorse for his actions. When asked ask he if realized he could have caused a fatal accident, Li simply smirked and said he would not have done that.

Li currently studies English at the University of Stirling in Scotland. He was stopped in May for driving in the wrong lane outside of the Stirling train station. His blood alcohol levels were tested and found to be twice the normal amount. He was due to appear in court on September 17.

On August 22, Li was stopped again on the suspicion of drunk driving. He refused to take the breathalyzer test.

In court, the judge reprimanded him for his “blatant disregard for the law,” banned him from driving for three years, fined him 1,950 Pounds and confiscated his Maserati.

And yet, Mainlanders are genuinely confused when the rest of the world has no respect for them.

He didn't grow up wanting to be an arsehole. He achieved arseholery courtesy of his upbringing. He grew up in China. Duh...

"Scotland’s Maserati", I'm not usually the one to nitpick over typos, but you need to correct that error quickly. It's genuinely misleading, had me confused for a second.

I'm fairly sure that the sentence isn't actually ungrammatical, just really badly constructed. I agree that it definitely is confusing and should be rewritten but "A student’s Maserati" sounds fine, as does "A wealthy student’s Maserati" With each additional qualifier the sentence gets harder to understand, but as far as I know nothing actually makes the sentence wrong. If my grammar-fu isn't strong enough though, I'd be happy to hear why.

I actually like the stories about dumb tuhaos getting their just desserts. It's really short and kind of funny, and this is in the "weird" news section, obviously not meant to be taken seriously.

He was studying in Scotland's Maserati? Scotland has only one Maserati and it lets Chinese students study inside it?
