A Chinese company brought 6,000 employees to South Korea for a massive fried chicken and beer party.

South Korea media reported on Monday that a Chinese company had set up a 600 meter long white table stacked with fried chicken and beer on a street in Incheon’s Wolmido Culture Street. The table had more than 1,500 plates of fried chicken from 50 local brands.

Yonhap reported that the event was the largest fried chicken and beer party ever. The company had 550 tables of eight set up in the streets, and 15 delivery vehicles brought in chicken.

750 plates of French fries were also served alongside the fried chicken. The company also went through a huge stack of bottled beer.

The 6,000 employees flew into South Korea on 150 planes from 24 Chinese cities. They stayed in 1,500 hotel rooms in 26 different hotels. They took 140 tour buses and had 280 tour guides leading their seven-day six-night tour.

The company, Guangzhou Aolan International Beauty Group, was established in 2009 and is known for its anti-aging products. The company also owns a number of subsidiaries.

This is not the first time a Chinese company has taken employees on a massive trip abroad. Last year, Tianjin-based health product company Tianshi Group took 6,500 employees to France last May to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary. The four-day luxury trip cost the company at least 13 million Euros.

The competition for top talents has put great pressure on bosses to add on the perks. China is one of the most compete tic labour markets in the planet. These stories are commonplace.

Eating greasy chicken and scoffing watery beer at overcrowded and rowdy trestle tables are a perk ? Then again, just getting out of their overcrowded and rowdy neighborhoods could be considered a perk, so yeah, definitely a perk.

Chinese netizens give immediate comments: From its webpage you can tell it's a pyramid selling company. So I searched this Guangzhou Aolan International Beauty Group on internet. Its official website linked to a branch company called Guangzhou Aolan Biotech Co. Ltd., It claims the key products of this company is Anti-aging beauty device, but no any photos or detailed introduction of it. The only product selling on the page is kinda health beverage. They are right.

Folks, those massive "staff tour groups" are just another way to smuggle money out of the country. Most likely the bosses went through a travel agency and bought totally overpriced plane tickets then got a generous kickback (50%?) in Korean Won or USD. This sir, is how you China. They don't give a f*ck about pleasing or rewarding their employees.

Travelling abroad with thousands of your own people to spend the entire time with your own people completely defeats the point of travelling abroad.

I have a radical idea. Why don't companies use that money to actually pay their staff members well. I know I'm crazy...
