However, that isn’t all they do, Sequoia also turns out some fantastic breads and pastries made right in the store. Though the selection is small, it is well worth the trip and in addition they serve sandwiches, using their own bread, and pastas, so you can always make a lunch date of the journey.

By no means does this list contain the only delicious foreign bakeries in Beijing but it is a fantastic beginning in your search for those familiar baked goods. There are a few more, however that shouldn’t go without mentioning: The Lollipop Bakery which is a fabulous online cupcake shop owned by a native London lady, CupofChina on Financial Street in the Xicheng District is another great stop for breads, pastries and original New York cheesecake and lastly, Sweet Spot Restaurant and Bakery which is a bit off the beaten path, just Southwest of Wudaokou station, but home to some wonderful fresh baked breads and pastries at a fraction of the price compared to most others.
