Many of us don’t think twice about the quality of goods we buy from supermarkets in China, especially products from international chains like Tesco. But a recent supermarket ranking compiled by Greenpeace shows that we really should be thinking twice about where we source our groceries. According to their 2011 Supermarket Rankings published on the Greenpeace Asia website on February 1st, Carrefour and Auchan scored best, while Tesco ranked as the worst. Use of GM free food, banning of the worst pesticides, traceability and quality control, supplier management and testing systems and information disclosure were the criteria used to determine the results.
