There comes a day in every urbanite's life when one longs for a tranquil escape to nature. While Zhuhai is home to some of the most beautiful beaches, the city's parks also offer a convenient retreat from the concrete jungle. From Jingshan Park's stunning views to the hill-top temple at White Lotus Hill Park, Zhuhai's parks are a green oasis just waiting to be explored.

1) Seaside ParkView In Map

Seaside Park (海滨公园) can be found between Haibin Nan Lu and Xianghu Wan, just 5 km away from Macau.  Flanked to the north by Shijingshan and Incense Bay by the south, the park's dense vegetation offers cool shade from the summer heat and plenty of green space for picnicking or lounging around in the afternoon sun. It's also home to the ultimate symbol of Zhuhai: the statue of a fishing girl.

2) Jingshan ParkView In Map

Jingshan Park (景山公园) is just across from Seaside Park. With both the mountains and sea within immediate reach, this scenic hot spot is great for nature lovers.  

A 148 meter tall hill in the park offers stunning views of Zhuhai's natural scenery. Entrance to the peak costs 10 RMB, but the view and natural scenery is well worth it.  The park is also home to a children's play area (5 RMB entrance fee) making it a great destination for families with young kids. And if you're into barbequing, visitors are welcome to bring their own BBQ gear and have an outdoor feast.

3) Mingting ParkView In Map

Mingting Park (名亭公园), also known as "wild raccoon island" (野狸岛), can be reached directly via the bridge from Qinglü Dadao (情侣大道).  This island is actually pretty big and circumventing it will take you around 30-40 minutes. Visitors can rent bikes at the park's entrance for 40 minutes per go; standard bikes cost 15 RMB, tandem bikes cost 20 RMB, three person bikes cost 30 RMB, four-seater bikes 80 RMB and six-seater pedal vehicles cost 120 RMB. Boat rentals are also available in the park. Note: Temperatures here tend to be cooler than in the city, especially at night, so make sure to bring some extra clothing if you intend to stay until the late evening.

4) White Lotus Cave Park View In Map
White Lotus Cave Park (白莲洞公园) is located in the heart of the city, but that doesn't mean it's lacking in natural scenery. With mountains and watering holes a plenty, and a hilltop temple, you'll be sure to run into some camera-worthy moments.  After climbing up the hill, head over to one of the lake areas to admire the tranquil, pristine mineral water. If hunger kicks in, look out for the barbecue stands scattered throughout the park which serve on-the-go munchies including chicken wings.
