Find Your Home Décor Style in Beijing
By Ashley Johnson , eChinacities.com

Ever look through magazines and wish you could either afford an interior designer or be one of those really creative people who just know how to decorate like the TLC stars? There is no magic to it, you don’t have to be a professional, you just need to know where to look and we are going to tell you exactly where  to go in Beijing to find home décor that will make your friends beg to know who your interior designer is.
Whether you chose Chinese-style furniture or a more traditional western look, you still need the small touches like color, picture frames, candles, vases, etc. to jazz it up and bring it all together. Of course it’s nice to decorate with some local art but you probably want a few familiar touches that make your Beijing abode feel a little more like home. No matter your budget or style, Beijing has the perfect home décor for your home.

Yankee Candles
Everyone wants a nice smelling pad and Yankee Candles is the perfect place to freshen up the scent. With almost every scent imaginable and seasonal combinations as well, there is an aroma for everyone. The candles last so long and the best part is, so does the fragrance. Many cheap candles can lose their smell after a while, leaving you with nothing more than a wick burning in a pool of wax. Yankee Candles can be on the expensive side but it is every bit worth the extra money to have a long-lasting, full-fragrance candle to keep your home smelling the way you like it. They do have different budget options, however. They offer three sizes in both the jar candles and the tumbler candles with a burning life of 25-150 minutes depending on the type and size. They offer sampler candles and tea lights, with a burn life of 15 and 6 hours respectively, which are perfect for testing scents and also great for the party host who likes to lighten the mood with a few small scented candles. The scents range from completely outrageous to very mild, so whether you want your home to smell of a Caribbean Island or something more subtle, like lavender; everyone can enjoy a little fragrance. Candle accessories such as holders and plug in scents are also available.

This brilliant little find in the Wudaoying Hutong has goods from India and Tibet, all of which are brought back by the owner herself; thus, you can be assured that they are picked with care and are of good quality. There is a fine selection of hand-carved ornaments such as elephants, camals, buddha’s, vases, pots and even some furniture pieces. Each piece is very distinctive so you can be sure that the one you choose isn’t going to be sitting in every market vendors shop.
Hide and Seek has a fantastic collection of Thangka’s (unique Tibetan silk paintings), which are specially made in Lasha, as well as beautiful quilts and throws from India.
